Turkish Döner Kebab

 

A staple in Turkish street food, döner kebab features flavorful, marinated meat stacked and grilled vertically. While traditionally cooked on a rotisserie, this recipe offers an easy home version.  


**Ingredients:**  

- 500g beef or lamb, thinly sliced  

- 2 tbsp yogurt  

- 2 tbsp olive oil  

- 1 tsp cumin  

- 1 tsp paprika  

- 1 tsp garlic powder  

- 1 tsp salt  

- ½ tsp black pepper  

- Pita bread or flatbread  

- Sliced tomatoes, onions, and lettuce  

- Yogurt or garlic sauce  


 **Instructions:**  

1. Mix yogurt, olive oil, and spices to create a marinade. Coat the meat and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.  

2. Grill or pan-sear the meat until cooked through.  

3. Assemble in pita bread with tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and sauce.  

4. Wrap and serve hot!
