NEW YORK — In a move that’s shaking up both Wall Street and the crypto world, American Bitcoin Corporation, backed by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, has officially launched on the Nasdaq under the ticker ABTC, following a high-profile merger with Gryphon Digital Mining. The company opened trading with a 33% surge, signaling strong investor appetite for politically branded crypto ventures.

The firm disclosed holdings of 2,443 Bitcoin, valued at approximately $273 million, making it one of the largest publicly traded Bitcoin treasuries in the U.S. The strategy behind American Bitcoin combines self-mining operations with opportunistic market purchases, aiming to accumulate Bitcoin as a core asset while leveraging infrastructure from mining partner Hut 8.

Eric Trump, co-founder and chief strategy officer, called the listing “a historic milestone in bringing Bitcoin into the core of U.S. capital markets.” The company plans to raise up to $2.1 billion through Class A common stock offerings, with proceeds earmarked for expanding mining capacity, acquiring ASIC hardware, and strengthening its balance sheet.

The Trump family’s pivot into crypto has been swift and aggressive. In addition to American Bitcoin, they’ve backed other ventures including a U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin and a meme coin promoted by President Trump himself. These moves have positioned the family as major players in the digital asset space, with holdings estimated in the billions.
